Welcome to the School of Theatre and Dance at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts! 

It is my great honor to serve as Director of this vibrant, collaborative, and forward-thinking community. I have the privilege of working alongside an exceptional team of faculty and staff—artists, educators, and scholars dedicated to providing our students with a transformative education grounded in artistic excellence, professional rigor, and personal growth. 

At the School of Theatre and Dance, students develop the skills and experiences they need to thrive in the performing arts while growing into thoughtful, courageous, and compassionate individuals through close mentorship and creative exploration. Our alumni are proof of the strength of our programs—performing on Broadway, working in film and television, teaching across the country, and shaping Houston’s arts scene as actors, playwrights, choreographers, and cultural leaders. 

Located in one of the most diverse and artistically vibrant cities in the nation, we offer students a rich environment for learning and connection. The Houston Shakespeare Festival, produced by the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, is a professional production where students train and perform alongside working artists, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. Combined with our partnerships across Houston’s thriving theatre and dance communities, this creates an unparalleled launchpad for a life in the arts.
