Nestled in Houston鈥檚 historic Third Ward, the Moores School of Music is seamlessly woven into the vibrant arts ecosystem that thrives in one of the world鈥檚 most dynamic cities. Our campus welcomes top-tier musicians and industry professionals daily, creating an environment rich in professional partnership. We also engage with a diverse array of performing arts and arts service organizations throughout the greater Houston area, enhancing our community's cultural landscape.
We are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded musicians who can thrive in the dynamic music landscape of the twenty-first century. The next generation of artists must not only master their craft and develop exceptional musicianship but also embody a range of global musical styles. They will need to cultivate collaboration, technological proficiency, and creativity, while adopting an entrepreneurial mindset and actively engaging with their communities.
With thirty years of professional experience and a deep understanding of the evolving music scene in America, I can confidently say that the performance level at the Moores School of Music is exceptional. Our major ensembles perform at least twice each semester, complemented by a vibrant chamber music program, the Faculty Artist Series, the Texas Music Festival, and numerous student recitals. Together, these initiatives culminate in over 400 remarkable events each year, showcasing the extraordinary talent nurtured here.
