FROM THE DIRECTOR OF
CYNTHIA WOODS MITCHELL CENTER
FOR THE ARTS
Dear Members of the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts,
To serve as a steward at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts is the greatest privilege. As an interdisciplinary arts resource for ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students, faculty, and staff, the Mitchell Center provides opportunities that promote innovative collaboration and exchange between artists, performers, writers, and scholars.
Through dynamic programming, the Mitchell Center facilitates interdisciplinary cooperation, forming an alliance among five units: the School of Art, Moores School of Music, School of Theatre and Dance, Creative Writing Program, and Blaffer Art Museum.
By fostering a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives through lectures and workshops, performances and exhibitions, as well as scholarships and our highly acclaimed visiting artist program, we contribute to the thriving creative community on campus and to partnerships throughout the city of Houston.
