School of Theatre &
Dance Scholarships & Aid
Funding Your Creative Education
The School of Theatre & Dance offers a range of merit-based scholarships, graduate tuition fellowships, and teaching assistantships to support both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing theatre and dance degrees. Aid is awarded based on artistic excellence, academic merit, and program needs.
Types of Funding Available
All MFA students in the School of Theatre & Dance are eligible for Graduate Tuition Fellowships, which cover the cost of in-state tuition and mandatory fees (excluding college and course fees).
All MFA students are eligible for assistantships as part of the School of Theatre & Dance graduate admissions process鈥攏o separate application is required. Assistantships offer experience in teaching or grading support within the department, with assignments determined by the student鈥檚 area of study, qualifications, and departmental needs.
A limited number of MFA students may be assigned as instructors of record for departmental courses, depending on qualifications and departmental needs.
Assistantships and teaching fellowships are considered employment and include a stipend. Assignments vary annually and are contingent on satisfactory academic and professional performance.
