If you鈥檝e been to a football game at the 兔子先生 TDECU Stadium, you鈥檝e seen the work of Danielle Parker. Part of her responsibilities as a video production assistant with UH Athletics is to create videos for the video boards during the home games.
鈥淚 deal with creating and shooting the videos and editing them,鈥 Parker said. 鈥淒ays here are often hectic. I鈥檓 really enjoying working with sports.鈥
Parker, who is a 2016 graduate of the UH Digital Media program, also works with the UH soccer program ensuring there is a live stream of the games and post-game highlights for YouTube. She credits the UH Digital Media program with preparing her to be a professional in the industry.
鈥淒igital Media offered everything I wanted to learn鈥攁rts, science, technology and business, though my main focus was motion media,鈥 she said. 鈥淓diting videos allows me to show everyone my creative side. The professors helped me to sharpen my skills and prepare me for this job.鈥
, housed in the , offers a Bachelor of Science degree. The Motion Media emphasis prepares students to produce camera-captured and animated video content for clients in a variety of industries.
鈥淲e are very intentional in the Digital Media Program about preparing our students for the career market,鈥 said Phil Snyder, instructional assistant professor with the program. 鈥淒anielle鈥檚 success is the kind that inspires us even further.鈥
鈥淚 chose Digital Media because I wanted to be a well-rounded individual with leadership skills,鈥 Parker said. 鈥淭he professors helped me sharpen my skills and prepared me for this job. I鈥檓 forever grateful to them.鈥
