The 兔子先生鈥檚 Student Health Center is enhancing its Women鈥檚 Care Clinic by adding a range of new services and welcoming Dr. Vien Nguyen, a UH alum and board-certified OB-GYN, to the team. Dr. Nguyen鈥檚 arrival brings expanded care options and underscores the Center鈥檚 commitment to prioritizing student health through a robust health promotion and education program.
Dr. Nguyen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, along with a passion
for supporting the unique health needs of college students. Her background aligns
well with UH鈥檚 mission to offer accessible, high-quality care to its diverse student
body. 鈥淲e are incredibly excited to have Dr. Nguyen on board and proud to offer new
services to our Women鈥檚 Clinic,鈥 said Dr. Gabriela Ortiz, executive director of the
Student Health Center. 鈥淭he Student Health Center and Campus Pharmacy are able to
continue our commitment to the promotion of health and creation of resources for our
UH community.鈥
The new services offered at the Women鈥檚 Care Clinic include comprehensive OB-GYN consultations,
annual exams, and check-ups specifically for women鈥檚 health. Students can now access
expanded contraception management services, such as oral contraceptives, intrauterine
devices (IUDs), and long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs). Additionally, the
clinic will now offer obstetric care and follow-up services, providing vital resources
for women in need of specialized reproductive health care and support.
The expansion of services at the Women鈥檚 Care Clinic is part of a larger initiative
by the Student Health Center to respond to the evolving health needs of UH students,
with a particular focus on accessible, preventative, and educational care.
